Google’s New AI Tool Turns Photos Into Videos – Coming First to Honor 400 Phones

If you’ve ever wished your photos could come to life like in a Harry Potter movie, Google’s new AI tool might be the start of that dream. The Honor 400 and 400 Pro smartphones, launching on May 22, will be the first to feature this exciting new feature.

Here’s what it does: you pick a photo from your gallery, and Google’s AI turns it into a short 5-second video. It uses advanced technology called the Veo 2 model to add motion to still images—like making a cat blink or a car drive forward. It only takes about a minute to generate the video, and it’s built directly into the Honor phone’s Gallery app.

But it’s not perfect. While clear photos of people or pets usually come out well, the tool struggles with complicated images. One photo of a soccer match turned into a wild mess with 27 players and two referees. Another had tomatoes being moved by a ghostly hand. Even a Van Gogh self-portrait ended with a pigeon flying out of his eye!

For now, the tool is free to use for the first two months with a limit of 10 videos per day. After that, users will need a Google subscription—but the pricing hasn’t been announced yet.

This feature gives Honor 400 users early access to one of Google’s latest AI experiments. It’s fun and impressive at times, but still unpredictable. Think of it more as a creative toy than a serious video tool—for now.
